Equilibrium mode is selected by specifying ICONVR=3 in the namelist IN1. This option is only available when using input mode 2. In the equilibrium mode, the equilibrium can be computed either with a fixed specified boundary (specified by setting NBDRY greater then 0 in the namelist IN1) or with a free boundary when the shaping coil currents or the fluxes at a set of flux loops are given. At the completion of a fixed boundary run, an input file for the free boundary calculation is also generated with the prefix X, e.g. X(shot).(time+1).
For elongated plasmas, a feedback option due to Lazarus can be used to stabilize against the oscillations in the vertical position during iteration. The inputs are given in the namelist INK.
Additionally, the current profiles can also be specified through constraints on beta, li, edge current density, etc. in the namelist INWANT.
