Project: DIII-D Data Magnetic Fusion

The mission of the DIII-D National Fusion Facility is to establish the scientific basis for the optimization of the tokamak approach to fusion energy production. As it relates to the DIII-D program, the mission of the Data Analysis Applications Group is to increase the data analysis throughput and data retrieval rate for the scientific team.

The work by the Data Analysis Applications Group in support of the DIII-D scientific team is diverse and includes:

  1. Linux clusters for parallel processing
  2. Scientific visualization
  3. Data management
  4. GUI design
  5. Advanced Collaborative Environments
  6. Mathematically intensive data analysis applications

For researchers that desire to begin work on the DIII-D facility, the DIII-D data page is maintained for reference. Information on the group's individual expertise is also available.
